KYIV. February 3rd. UNN. As part of the race to persecute the junior world biathlon championship, Ukrainian representative Katerina Beh won a gold medal, states UNN with reference to the FBU.
The sprint winner Bech at the start of the race lost 14 seconds early. Caution at the first shot did not help: the fifth shot Bech passed the target and with it the direction: Bech entered a group of persecutors. The top five athletes missed mistakes that the rival used. And the main role played here Ukrainian women. Having won a fine in the first leg, the second and Bech, and Anna Krivonos were clean and went to see the leaders of the race, taking with them only Sweden's Elvira Eberg.
One mistake allowed Bech to be on the third and fourth shots. It had to include all the self-control to fight for the rewards, managed flawlessly.
Krivonos left too much power in the first half of the distance. After winning four races in two baskets, the biathletes fell in the second dozen, where the moral forces were no longer in the fight: the final result was Krivonos – 17th
Two other Ukrainians, Valery Dmitrenko and Anna Kovalenko , ending almost at positions 29 and 35.
Note that in the overall score of the Junior Cup, IBU Bech came in second place, narrowing the distance of the leader, the German Hanna Kebinger, at 33 points.
