West Virginia MPs were looking Thursday for one of four people who allegedly entered an inactive coal mine earlier this month. was worth a multi-day rescue
The sheriff's office said in a statement that he had a warrant for the arrest of Eddie Williams Jr. , accused of having penetrated without rape, of conspiracy and of having given false information to the forces of the order.
Williams and three others, Kayla Williams, Cody Beverly and Erica Treadway, entered the Rock House Powellton Mine in Clear Creek shortly before their disappearance on December 8th.
Williams came out of the mine on December 10th. They learned that the other three were alive, said the official at the time.
They were rescued on December 12 and the mother of one of them said they believed they had entered the mine to steal copper.
Beverly and Treadway, at talks after they were rescuers denied having entered the mine in search of copper and claimed to be exploring there.
The sheriff's office said that an investigation was continuing on Williams, Beverly and Treadway.
Entering a closed mine is a crime. no matter the motivation, said a spokesman for the sheriff.
The sheriff's office was not able to provide more details about the criminal case when it was made public Thursday night and an email addressed to the spokesman said: was not immediately returned.
