Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Christine Friland, appealed to Ukrainians with words of support. The head of the Canadian foreign ministry spoke in Ukrainian.
Friland made such a statement at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE in Milan.

What happened in the Kerch Strait . It is known that two small armored artillery boats and a navy attack tug of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have moved from the port of Odessa to the port of Mariupol, in accordance with international standards. However, Russia has stated that Ukrainian warships allegedly "illegally entered the waters of the temporarily closed Russian territorial sea" and continued their movement towards the Kerch Strait.
Subsequently, a group of Ukrainian navy ships continued their journey to Mariupol. However, right out of the Kerch Strait, Russian border ships opened fire on Ukrainian ships, injuring six Ukrainian soldiers. Russia also seized 2 Ukrainian ships and captured 24 Ukrainian sailors.
After that, Ukraine granted military status in the 10 oblasts until December 26 and banned Russian men aged 16 to 60 years. Instead, Russia started blocking Ukrainian ships and ports in the Azov Sea. On 28 November, the occupied Crimean "court" selected all preventive measures in the form of detention for the 24 Ukrainian captives for a period of two months.
Russia is no longer the first month blocking foreign ships going to the Ukrainian sea ports of Azov. As a result, the Ukrainian economy suffers considerable losses.
