The new option is in the privacy settings menu. When enabled, access is blocked for the entire application, not for individual discussions. If, for any reason, the smartphone refuses to read the owner's fingerprint, WhatsApp can be opened in a conventional way to unlock Android (graphic key, PIN or password).
A similar feature appeared in the iOS client in the fall, but it also works in test mode and is not displayed by most users. It's hard to know when it will be officially introduced, but the developers would not waste time if it was a short-term experiment
Another innovation of the beta version of WhatsApp was the ability to listen to audio files before sending it to the interlocutor. The menu contains covers (if any) and allows the simultaneous selection of up to 30 entries.
