BOSTON – A lawyer for James "Whitey" Bulger says he plans to sue the government for the notorious gangster's prison killing.
Attorney Hank Brennan told The Wall Street Journal that he would file requests for wrongful death and negligence on the part of Bulger's estate.
Bulger was serving a life sentence for 11 murders and other crimes when he was beaten to death in October, a few hours after being transferred to a West Virginia jail.
Authorities reported that two Massachusetts criminals were suspected of murdering the 89-year-old man.
A solicitation email was sent to the Prisons Office on Monday.
