William Barr calls himself a good friend of the special advocate Robert Mueller, who investigates Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election. In response to a question from Senator Lindsey Graham Barr also stated that Mueller would not be "involved in a witch hunt".
President Trump frequently referred to Mueller's investigation as a "witch hunt". Graham:

Barr: I would say that we were good friends.
Graham: Would you say that you understand that he is an impartial man?
Barr: Absolutely.
Graham: Do you trust him to be fair to the president and the country as a whole?
Barr: Yes.
Graham: When his report reaches you, will you share it with us as much as possible?
Barr: In accordance with the regulations and the law, yes.
Graham: Do you believe Mr. Mueller would be involved in a witch hunt against anyone?
Barr: I do not think Mr. Mueller would be involved in a witch hunt.
