Xiaomi left Redmi smartphones without MIUI 10 updates

Redmi Note 3 will receive firmware update MIUI 10 based on Android 7.0

This weekend, the MIUI 10 firmware for more than 40 smartphone models has been released. Millions of users have received a lot of patches and useful innovations for their mobile devices. However, not all smartphones were upgraded even though older device owners were hoping for it.

In November, BGR received insider information on the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5, Mi4 and Redmi Note 3. As the release notes, the recently released MIUI 10 Global update for Mi5 smartphones and Redmi Note 3 will be the latest – after which no updates will be delivered, including beta versions.

The owners of Redmi Note 3 will be able to install MIUI 10 exclusively on the basis of the obsolete version of Android 6.0. Marshmallow, introduced in 2015. MIUI 10 is not based on the 7.0 version of Android for an obsolete smartphone.
