“Ultimate Slip ‘N’ Slide” is officially removed from the NBC program.

The reality TV competition series halted production in June following an outbreak of Giardia. It will not resume production and therefore will not debut on August 8 after the Tokyo Olympics final as originally planned. Instead, “” Family Game Fight “will air in the show’s scheduled time slot. NBC will launch its summer program with “American Ninja Warrior” on August 9 at 8 p.m. ET, followed by “The Wall” at 10 p.m.

Production was first halted by Universal Television Alternative Studio on June 2 after a case of a parasite-induced intestinal infection was reported on set. In coordination and cooperation with the Los Angeles and Ventura County Health Departments, the studio worked with a third-party environmental lab to test the water on-site and everything tested negative for Giardia, including a well, a pond, a slide, a water truck and the toilet sinks. On June 10, tests showed that Giardia was also in the vicinity. The next day, the studio announced that it would continue to shoot elsewhere.

The show, which was to be hosted by Bobby Moynihan and Ron Funches, reportedly added a touch of reality to the classic outdoor game Wham-O. “Ultimate Slip ‘N’ Slide” positioned its competitors to participate in a series of challenges on a gigantic sliding slide, such as Human Pong, Bocce Fall, Cornhole and Body Bowling. The two reigning teams then go head-to-head in the final multi-part Big Slipper challenge to win the league title and a cash prize.
