Ultra Music Festival compared to the Fyre Festival after the shuttle fiasco

The participants of the Miami Ultra Music Festival call it "Fyre Festival 2."

A logistical collapse Friday night forced more than 50,000 spectators to wait for hours for shuttles to take them from the island of Virginia Key to Miami after the last performance, which ended around 2 am .

The video posted on social media shows the hordes of raging party goers who choose to walk or run through the Rickebacker Causeway to return to Miami instead of waiting for the buses.

Meanwhile, participants lining up to board the 200 buses that Ultra had prepared realized how random the system was and how long it had been waiting for hours.

When the partygoers spilled, a tree caught fire.

Social network users quickly compared downtown to the Fyre Festival, where participants were promised a luxury experience and paid thousands of dollars for pre-packaged sandwiches and FEMA tents.

"Ultra is almost like the Fyre Festival and it's only the first day," tweeted a person, accompanied by a video of people crossing the bridge to return home.

The festival apologized on Twitter.

"Yesterday evening, many of you have experienced difficult transport conditions after leaving the festival. This is unacceptable and incompatible with the high standards you expect from us. For that, we are sorry, "they said. "As you can imagine, we are already working in cooperation with our city and county partners to resolve and resolve these issues quickly."

The second night, Saturday, the event ended with a more orderly approach to keeping people off the island, including the reorganization of the traffic lines, according to the Miami Herald.
