A tweeted video from the UND Police Department shows the back of a trailer being open and the moose coming out alone in a field. UN Police Police Lieutenant Danny Weigel said he did not know how the animal had been brought into the caravan, noting that more details would be available in the morning.

The moose spent 12 hours at the Memorial Stadium and spent most of his time nibbling on the grass, lying down and jogging around the stadium.

He first arrived on campus near the High Performance Center at around 8am. He was then contained in the stadium for the rest of the day.

Police waited until evening to move the animal until there were fewer spectators and traffic was reduced.
