United States: Jordan Spieth roasts his junior after misses

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Jordan Spieth showed up at the opening of the US Open with a lot of hope and expectations. It only took nine holes to burn them.

Spieth, who has not won anywhere in the world for nearly two years, had finally begun to find his pace in the weeks leading up to the American Open, and he was even starting to appear again in the column of "Choices for to win". But one day when much of the rest of the field roasted a plump and juicy pebble beach, Spieth stumbled on a four-hole stretch and three bogey to close the first half of his Thursday round.

And whoever had the heat? Michael Greller, long time junior of Spieth. Spieth was tied for 8th place when his tee shot hit the fairway … and rolled on a cliff. His approach shot, as a result of a penalty stroke, flew the green, leaving him in a rough rough.

You can hear Spieth's comment here:

"Two perfect shots, Michael," said Spieth. "You've put me on the water on one and on the green on the other."

Spieth managed to escape with only one bogey, although he continues to bogey the next hole and go around at +2.

The outbreaks between the player and the cadet occur all the time; it's the nature of the relationship. A caddy is paid to carry not only the clubs but also some broken down. And Spieth has plenty of time to transform his Open. But it will be interesting to see if what was once one of golf's most successful partnerships can return to the rankings.
