Unity Engine presents one of the most impressive real-time demonstrations we've seen, called The Heretic | DSOGaming

At GDC 2019, Unity's award-winning Demo team, the creators of Adam and Book of the Dead, released a new short film called The Heretic. The Heretic Technology Demo was a real-time cinematic running at 30 ips at 1440p on a consumer desktop.

The Heretic technology demo was made with the latest version of Unity's post-processing features, such as motion blur, touch, depth of field, film grain, color calibration and Panini projection.

The technical demonstration is fully illuminated by real-time lights and uses a probe lighting solution. A first iteration of the new system solution has been applied in the Megacity demo and is currently being extended to the full version of The Heretic.

The end result is incredible and Unity promises to release soon the complete short film. In addition, Unity may also allow PC users to download and run it on their computers. After all, the team did exactly that with its Adam Tech demo. We hope to run The Heretic on our machines.

Enjoy the first technical video of The Heretic and stay tuned for more!
