Universal Orlando advises over 1,100 employees to be laid off by year-end

Layoffs have been common in the theme park industry since the start of the pandemic. Walt Disney World has laid off approximately 18,000 employees in central Florida. SeaWorld laid off nearly 2,000 people and Universal placed more than 5,000 workers on extended leave.
