Georgia cruising above Vanderbilt
Georgia's march to another potential Eastern SEC title had to go through Vanderbilt first. The Bulldogs easily passed this test with their new attack. Quarterback Jake Fromm led long touchdown passes at the opening of the first eight games, respectively, to give his team a 14-0 lead. The skill positions seem as fast as last year. Offensive halfback Andre Swift had 147 yards in 16 runs and Brian Herrien had 65 yards in 12 runs. The Bulldogs defense limited the Commodores to 16 of 32 passes for a 109-yard win in the 30-6 win.
Missouri falls in Wyoming
The SEC East has not had the best day, Georgia State late in the Tennessee and South Carolina. Missouri caught the virus of futility and fell to Wyoming in Laramie 37-31. Clemson's transfer Kelly Bryant did everything possible to make it a late game, finishing the night with 423 yards and two touchdowns. But two turnovers (an interception and a fumble) canceled what should have been a stellar performance.
All aboard the Sam Ehlinger train
The double threat quarterback for the Longhorns proudly proclaimed that Texas was back after beating Georgia in last season's Sugar Bowl and confirmed it in the 2019 opening match against Louisiana Tech. He had 28 of his 38 assists and 276 yards and four touchdowns in the 45-14 win over the Bulldogs. Can he continue? We'll know it next weekend when the Longhorns host LSU in Austin.
Joe Burrow sets a record for LSU

The State of Georgia upsets Tennessee in Knoxville

The least pleasant thing about Tennessee is that a victory is not guaranteed. The Flights fell 38 to 30 at home against the Panthers, and it was really no surprise. Stanford faces North West at slugfest
It was not really a high-level football, but Stanford's number 25 dealt with home affairs on Saturday by defeating Northwestern 17-7. The cardinal never pulled back from his defense, stifling the visiting Wildcats, who made four turnovers and only accumulated 212 yards on the ground. Stanford quarterback K.J. Costello had a strong performance in his debut season, completing 16 of his 20 attempts and converting one for a score. Ohio State and Justin Fields Exceed FAU
Fields was quick to make a statement as a new quarterback of the Ohio State.
