According to multiple reports, Darren Till, an average UFC weight, was fined for damaging a hotel and driving in a taxi to the Canary Islands.

Till, of Liverpool, was one of five British nationals arrested last Thursday and admitted to vandalizing the hotel in Tenerife – including breaking furniture and deploying fire extinguishers, according to media reports. The group of men then left the hotel and called a taxi. While the taxi driver was loading his luggage into the trunk, one of the men was driving and left, the radio reported.

TSN announced Monday that Till, 26, and four others had been sentenced to pay about 10,000 euros to the Costa Adeje hotel, and another person to pay 480 euros for damages to the hotel and 360 euros extra for the unauthorized use of a Taxi.

The UFC has not yet commented on the case.

Till (17-2-1) has gained much notoriety since his UFC signing in 2015. He challenged Tyron Woodley for the welterweight championship at UFC 228 last September, but lost by submission. He suffered a defeat in the round of 16 against Jorge Masvidal during his last fight, at the UFC Fight Night on March 16 in London.
