Hyrule Warriors Age Of Calamity

The spooky season is almost over, the pumpkins will soon be mashed or baked into soups and pies (or left absently to shrivel up on the windowsill before being tossed in the trash in a few weeks) and November is coming with promises of longer nights, cooler days and the long awaited return of Wyclef. Yes, folks – we’ve come to the last stage of 2020. Phew! While many of us will be happy to see the end of this particular year, there is still a lot to look forward to for players of all stripes, especially on Switch.

In October, we appreciated the novelties like Origin Ys, Mario Kart Live: Home circuit and Pikmin 3 Deluxe (which just squeaks in there on the 30th), and there are more to come in the last two months of the year, including a return trip to the Hyrule from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and what appears to be Ubisoft’s version of a similar playstyle, with a fair amount of Kid Icarus added for good measure.

So now is the time to prepare for the looming frenzy of Black Friday and the holiday season. Don’t worry, lovely people – everything will be fine at the end.

Teased by Nintendo and featured by WayForward during a Paper Mario Treehouse presentation, it may not be what people were hoping for, but Bakugan: Champions Of Vestroia has the potential to blow expectations – the studio behind the Shantae The series certainly has the pedigree and the chops to deliver.

We were impressed when we checked out the game recently, so keep an eye out for our verdict soon.

Of course, this isn’t a Switch game, but it does get us excited all the same. This little beauty will play Super Mario Bros. and The lost levels, and also comes with a host of small Easter eggs to taste. And an alarm you’ll never, ever use.

You’ll need a little luck to get your hands on one of these if pre-orders are anything to go by, but if you can resist putting in the cash for a brand new Game & Watch in 2020. , please pass this information on – our wallets sting!

A surprise announcement in the same vein as Paper Mario: King of Origami Earlier this year, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity will bring you back to the world of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, just 100 years earlier to witness the great calamity that befell Hyrule.

We all know how it ends, but we’ll be intrigued to see the story unfold with the Warriors series patented hack-and-slash gameplay, once again with the Zelda treatment. We’re gagging to visit Hyrule Castle Town in its heyday, and we don’t have too long to wait.

Any game that channels the art style and feeling of Breath of the Wild and Kid Icarus is perfect for us, and Ubisoft’s Immortals: Fenyx Rising (formerly known as Gods and monsters) looks like a beauty, despite having the most generic video game name we’ve seen in quite some time. Seriously, this is an “Origins” far from a parody.

Terrible title aside, we have high hopes for this one, and Zion was impressed with the game after hands-on experience with a PC version. How the Switch version will hold up remains to be seen, but our fingers are crossed.

A sequel to the boxercise rhythm game Fitness boxing, this new game will add a host of new modes (including a two-player mode), three new instructors (joining the original six), and various other tweaks from the original game – a surprise success for Nintendo and the Imagineer developers when it came out almost two years ago. If you have the original you can also move your save data to the new game. Considering the shape 2020 has left us, we could probably do some blood pumping with a little more fitness boxing.

A surprise announcement earlier in the year, we’re big fans of the original titanic puzzle crossover, and we’re mesmerized to see the new features that Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 will bring, including co-op boss raids and skill battles. . Not much to say, really – it’s Puyo Puyo and Tetris … again. Sign us up.
