Among us Players had a unique opportunity this week to get a free pet in the board game, but a snag with the giveaway prevented many people from taking advantage of the offer smoothly. The animal in question is a “Glitch Pet” that features the Twitch Glitch symbol, and the issue preventing players from getting dealt with account linking which was one of the few steps players actually required. Thankfully, this has been fixed now, but just a day after the promotion started, so if you need a free pet, you’re free to get one for a limited time.
The Twitch Rivals Twitter account first shared news of the free animal on December 4 and followed up on Saturday with an update on the status of the giveaway. Players had to link their Twitch and Among us accounts and look at some Among us gameplay through Twitch Rivals to get Glitch Pet, but shortly after the deal was announced, the Twitch Rivals teams recognized issues that prevented players from linking accounts. As of December 5, these issues should be resolved.

Among us developer InnerSloth shared a similar ad and referred people to a previous Free Glitch Pet discussion thread to explain to players how they can add the pet to their collections. For those who haven’t tried to get Glitch Pet yet, just link accounts and watch at least 30 minutes of Twitch Rivals. Among us event is happening now.

In addition to the steps outlined above, there are a few caveats that apply to this offer. You must watch 30 minutes of the Twitch Rivals event while logged in to your Twitch account, and the offer is only valid by December 19, when the Twitch Rivals event ends. Glitch Pet is the only cosmetic available, so don’t plan on picking your own pet, but if you don’t have one at all or are just starting out Among us, a free pet is not a bad deal.
