[UPDATE] Gmail down or partially down in parts of the world – black belt with red head

Reports around the world indicate that Gmail is down or corrupted in many countries, even though some areas are functioning normally.

Some people claim to be able to use HTML to publish an email. Others report a complete inability to work.

Outage.Report reports that there have been 1267 reports in the last 20 minutes. (To put this in perspective, there were only 36 reports per 20 minutes on February 12th, the last time outages were reported.)

Gmail has problems since a little after 19 hours. Pacific Standard Time, but from 8:17 pm PST has not issued any official statement.

UPDATE 9:46 PM Although Gmail still has some problems, the number of reports has dropped significantly. Most local users (including us) no longer seem to have a problem.
