"Since Thursday, we have been in direct contact with the Mayor's Office and the Director General to offer mahi PonoFull support to the county as it strives to contain the brush fire in central Maui. At the present time, we have 10 employees exclusively dedicated to fire management, which includes assistance in setting up firewalls. We have also offered the county access through our agricultural roads and keep our tanks full and accessible. Today, in accordance with the recommendations of the Maui Fire Department (MFD), a D8 bulldozer cuts a firewall near the MECO power plant; two front loaders cutting additional firewalls near the border of Haleakala Ranch; and three tractors building firewalls around our central Maui base yard, just below Pukalani and also along Keahua Road. We would like to thank the Mayor, the County, the MFD and all the first responders who work tirelessly to extinguish the brush fire. We appreciate their leadership, hard work and dedication to protecting the safety of our community. The fire has affected both residents and visitors and our thoughts are with all those affected. "At the present time, we do not know the extent of damage to our property and we will not be able to carry out any type of assessment until the fire is under control." . "
