Update of old Jets in the lineup or formation of their new team

It is now time to provide another update on how the former Jets still in the NFL are doing well with their current team. Today, we are looking at which players were on the list of 53 players on their team and who were injured or released.

As always, this list is meant to be exhaustive, but if we have forgotten someone, let us know in the comments.

Long is on Mitch Morse's replacement list in central Buffalo. Morse was struggling with a concussion during the pre-season, but the Bills were confident enough in Long to be able to exchange Russell Bodine. Long did a good job blocking the pre-season race, but struggled to protect his passes.

Roberts' main role with the Bills will be their return specialist. He only grabbed a pre-season pass but showed that he still had return capabilities with a punt return of 37 yards.

Brooks has seen a lot of pre-season activities but is now ranked third. He played well in the cover, but struggled against the race. He will also contribute to the special teams.

Lee was surprisingly not ranked as a starter for the Chiefs after a contradictory campaign before the season.

Claiborne will begin the season on the inactive list after a four-game suspension suspended by the league. He played two pre-season games and had a pass.

Skrine will be the Bears' nickel cornerback in 2019, but did not play in pre-season due to injury.

Pierre-Louis is among the third players in the Bears but will undoubtedly be one of the main teammates. He played two pre-season games and had just one tackle against the special team, but conceded two big cover plays.

Dozier has had a solid pre-season to earn a spot in the lineup even though he will be replaced by the Vikings.

Carpenter barely played in pre-season, but he took the first team representatives to the training and should start for the Falcons.

Myers scored eight of nine goals in nine in pre-season, with his only missing over 50 yards. However, he only had eight touchdowns on 20 shots.

Stanford is listed as a second member and is expected to contribute to the special teams. He struggled against the race in preseason but played well in the cover.

Fitzpatrick won Dolphins first place against Josh Rosen in pre-season. He was only 17 of 32 for a total of 166 yards in three appearances, but did not interception and had a touchdown pass.

Bullock won the victory over Tristan Vizcaino, while he had tried only one kick in the pre-season. His only attempt at field placement was good from the age of 50.

Richardson is listed as a starter even though he missed some time at the camp with a wound in the abdomen. He played two pre-season games and recorded a bag.

Pope surprisingly won the number three defenseman position in pre-season after accumulating 94 yards at an average of 4.7 per race. He also caught nine passes and returned a 81-yard punt for a touchdown.

Smith was a bust at the Jets, but he seems to be about to realize his potential in Dallas. He had a huge pre-season with 14 catches for 188 yards and one touchdown.

Aboushi remains the Lions' second right guard despite three penalties in three preseason games.

  • Damon Harrison, DT, Detroit

Harrison signed an extension during the camp and will start the season as a Lions nose-tackle, although he has barely played in the pre-season.

Davis remains a starter with the Saints and has put together a solid pre-season campaign with 10 tackles in three games.

Minter is listed as a second member and should contribute to the special teams. In four pre-season games, he had 13 tackles, 0.5 sacks and one defended pass, but was beaten for a touchdown.

Smith was released and again signed as a result of a preparatory campaign that forced him to undergo knee surgery. After a slow pre-season start, he made two touchdown passes in seven attempts in the last preseason game to earn his place.

Bellore was also released and immediately re-signed. He remains in the position of defender, although he had representatives at his former position of linebacker in the camp. On the special teams, he had three penalties in the first match.

Natson is listed as a second member and will be responsible for punt and punt tasks. He had five passes for 21 yards and one pre-season touchdown, but struggled in the second leg.

McCown played in the penultimate preseason game, completing 17 of 24 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns. He escaped once, however.

The Seahawks acquired Nickerson for a preliminary qualifying decision before the final rounds. Pete Carroll already compares him to Justin Coleman.

Tomlinson was signed by the Giants after being released in final cuts by the Jets.

The Giants also asked Smith for a waiver after the Jets released him in the recent cuts.
