Google has released a new Chrome browser security update for Windows, Mac and Linux with several fixes, including a zero day which it says is being exploited in the wild.
The latest patch fixes a total of eight issues, one of which relates to a type confusion issue in its open source engine and JavaScript V8 (CVE-2021-30563). The search giant credited an anonymous researcher for reporting the flaw on July 12.
As is typically the case with actively exploited vulnerabilities, the company issued a terse statement acknowledging that “an exploit for CVE-2021-30563 exists in the wild” while refraining from sharing any details about the vulnerability. underlying used in attacks due to its serious nature and the possibility that it could lead to further abuse.

Chrome users are advised to update to the latest version (91.0.4472.164) by going to Settings> Help> “About Google Chrome” in order to mitigate the risk associated with the vulnerability.
