Our previous story on the parade:
The parade in honor of the St. Louis Blues champion will be held Saturday at noon, which could be a soggy day.
The parade will begin at 18th Street and Market Streets and will end at Broadway and Market Street. A rally will follow at Gateway Arch, according to information released by the St. Louis Blues on Twitter.
The parade will be televised live on KTVI (channel 2), KMOV (channel 4), KSDK (channel 5) and Fox Sports Midwest.
A few minutes after the official announcement of the parade on Thursday morning, the workers descended on the arche ground to begin preparations for the rally, laying down a nested floor covering for a stage.
The National Meteorological Service said Saturday could be rainy and perhaps see strong storms later in the afternoon or evening.
Melissa Byrd, Meteorologist at the National Weather Service at Weldon Spring, said the best chance of rain that day will be in the morning. Forecasts predict showers and thunderstorms – nothing serious – that stopped in the afternoon, she said.
"We still have a chance of rain in the afternoon – I can not rule it out completely, but it's less likely," Byrd added.
Saturday's summit will reach the bottom in the mid-80s.
Another wave of rain is forecast for Saturday night and this could be aggravated.
"There is a marginal risk of heavy storms in the afternoons and evenings," Byrd said. "Even if the chances are lower, the risk of strong storms is marginal."
Severe thunderstorms can result in hail of one inch or more and winds of 58 mph or more.
Byrd said that a midday parade was the best weather possible for this Saturday's weather.
