Urban Meyer reveals how he sees Alabama-Ohio state unfold

We’re less than a week away from the National Championship game between the No.1 Alabama and the No.3 Ohio State. Both teams come into the game with plenty of firepower from either side of the ball, and it looks like a good game in Miami Gardens, Fla. On Monday night.

The Crimson Tide (11-0) just won a 31-17 semi-final victory at the Rose Bowl over No.4 Notre-Dame. The Buckeyes (7-0), meanwhile, dismantled No.2 Clemson 49-28 in a huge upset victory. The two teams will meet for the first time since the inaugural college football playoffs in 2014, where the Scarlet and Gray claimed victory.

How will it play out this time? Urban Meyer, the man who coached the Buckeyes during that game, spoke to Joel Klatt on FOX Sports’ Breaking the Huddle On Wednesday night, he said he sees the state of Ohio scoring points in this one.

“I looked at a bunch of them. I know them very well, ”said Meyer. “They win the game because of their fundamentals, their excellent players, their excellent technique and their tendencies. Clemson was more of a ‘we’re going to mess you up, be everywhere, create a bunch of different looks for you. Alabama will line up and play. They dress up a bit, but not a lot. So it will be a very different game.

“I think the state of Ohio is going to score points. I’ve seen Florida do it, I’ve seen Ole Miss do it and I think Ohio State is better offensively than these two teams.

Just because Meyer thinks Ohio State will come out offensive doesn’t mean he thinks Alabama won’t. The Crimson Tides have had the most explosive unit in the country throughout the season, and it will be a major challenge for the Buckeyes’ defense to stop them.

“Now are you talking about the Alabama offense?” I didn’t see anyone even come and slow it down. You have three – I think – Heisman winners. In their day, they could have won the Heisman. Obviously, you can’t win them all this year. So it will be a very successful match. “
