The wife of Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer spoke out on Thursday, addressing her husband’s driving after a video showed him at an Ohio bar with another woman dancing near him.

In a shared statement on Twitter, Shelley Meyer thanked her followers who supported her, but added that the post would be her last on the social media platform due to the “hate, vitriol, slander, garbage” that was on her addressed.

“We all make mistakes, we are all sinners,” she wrote. “If you think you’re not?” So throw the first stone.

After the video was released, Urban Meyer, who has not won a win in four games as the NFL franchise’s rookie head coach, was forced to apologize on Monday for “being a distraction.”

“It was stupid. So I explained everything that happened. And owned it, ”he said. “And, you know, just plain stupid.” I shouldn’t have put myself in that kind of position.

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan tore up his own trainer on Tuesday, calling the video of his leader and the woman dancing with him “inexcusable” driving.

In an extraordinary statement posted on social media, Khan took Meyer to task and told him he needed to win back the trust of players and fans.

“I raised this issue with Urban,” Khan said. “The details of our conversation will be kept confidential. What I will say is that his conduct last weekend was inexcusable.”

The owner continued, “I appreciate Urban’s remorse, which I believe is sincere. Now he must regain our trust and respect. This will require a personal commitment from Urban to all who support, represent or play for our. team. I have no doubts he will deliver. “

Meyer had been one of college football’s most successful coaches, winning national titles at the University of Florida and Ohio State University before taking the Jacksonville job.

But his transition to professional football has been far less successful as the Jags are off to a 0-4 start with top draft pick Trevor Lawrence as quarterback.

Jacksonville lost 24-21 to Cincinnati last Thursday, but Meyer did not return to Florida with the team. Instead, he made a detour to Columbus to visit his grandchildren, the coach said.
