The United States has abandoned 11 oil rigs this week.
The United States witnessed another week of platform declines, eliminating 11 oil rigs, according to weekly data from Baker Hughes, a GE company.
It follows the loss of 19 oil and gas drilling last week.
The number of platforms currently active in the United States is now 904, 144 fewer than the number of 1,048 a year ago.
Several states lost platforms this week. They are:
Texas (-5)
Oklahoma (-2)
Colorado (-1)
Kansas (-1)
Louisiana (-1)
New Mexico (-1)
Pennsylvania (-1)
Utah (-1)
Wyoming (-1)
North Dakota and Alaska have added three platforms and one platform, respectively.
Among the main basins, the Permian led for the second consecutive week with a loss of five rigs. However, with 429 active platforms, the Permian still accounts for nearly half of the nation's total.
The following pools have also thrown platforms this week:
DJ-Niobrara (-2)
Ardmore Woodford (-1)
Granite Wash (-1)
Haynesville (-1)
Marcellus (-1)
Williston and Arkoma Woodford added three platforms and one platform, respectively.
