The US Embassy in Kabul has called on Americans in Afghanistan to leave the country immediately in response to increased violence and not to “rely on US government robberies” in the process.
“The United States Embassy urges American citizens to immediately leave Afghanistan using the commercial flight options available. Considering the security conditions and the reduced staff, the capacity of the embassy to assist American citizens in Afghanistan is extremely limited, even in Kabul ”, the embassy said on its government website on Saturday.
Fox News has contacted the US State Department for comment.

The warning comes after the Taliban ambushed and killed the director of the Afghan government media center in Kabul on Friday, with a Taliban spokesman saying the person responsible was “punished by [sic] his actions.”
The terrorist group also captured its first provincial capital, Zaranj, located in the southern province of Nimroz on Friday.

“These actions by the Taliban to forcefully impose their regime are unacceptable and contradict their claim to support a negotiated settlement in the Doha peace process. They demonstrate a blatant disregard for the well-being and rights of civilians and will exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in this country ”, the embassy said in another statement on Saturday.

The UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Deborah Lyons, further warned that without intervention, the country could fall “in a disaster situation so serious that it would have little or no parallels during this century. “

The country remains on a Level 4 “Do not travel” warning, with the embassy citing “crime, terrorism, civil unrest, kidnappings, armed conflict and COVID-19”.

The State Department in April ordered federal embassy workers to leave the country if they could do their jobs elsewhere in response to the increase in violence. The announcement came the same month President Biden set a deadline in September to withdraw the remaining 2,500 US troops from the country.
