NEW YORK (AP) – US health officials are once again urging people to stop vaping until they understand why some people are suffering from serious respiratory illnesses.

Officials said they identified 450 possible diseases, including at least three deaths, in 33 states. The count includes a death recently reported in Indiana.

Health officials said that no spraying device, liquid or ingredient had been linked to any diseases. Many, but not all, people who had sprayed with THC, the chemical that gives marijuana at a high level.

A week ago, US officials estimated the number of possible cases at 215 in 25 states. Health officials counted only certain lung diseases in which the person had emptied within three months. Most are teenagers.
