Retail sales in the United States rebounded in August, a sign that Americans are able and willing to spend despite the Delta variant.
Retail and restaurant sales rose 0.7% last month, despite a sharp drop in car sales linked to product shortages and shipping issues, the Commerce Department said Thursday. Sales fell 1.8% in July. Excluding cars, sales rose 1.8% last month.
