The United Arab Emirates has released British specialist Matthew Hedges, sentenced to life imprisonment last week for spying.
Hedges, 31, was released Monday after receiving a presidential pardon, UAE officials said.
The researcher was among the 700 people pardoned by United Arab Emirates President Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Monday for the country's national holiday.
