PARMA, Ohio (AP) – Authorities in an Ohio health office say 11 cases of Legionnaires' disease have been confirmed in a suburb of Cleveland, with one death reported.

The Cuyahoga (ky-uh-hhh – guh) County Board of Health says 10 patients were hospitalized. A 93-year-old woman from Parma died on 5 July.

Kevin Brennan, a spokesman for the council, says the illnesses all occurred between early June and July among the parishioners of Saint Columbkille parish in Parma. Brennan says that it has not been proven that the disease was contracted there.

The council works with officials of the Catholic parish and conducts environmental sampling.
