Farmington Hills – One man was killed and another wounded early in the morning by gunfire, the police call "not randomly" in an apartment complex in Farmington Hills.

Police said the double shootout occurred around 1:10 am in the Retreat of Farmington Hills apartment complex, located 12 km west of Middle Belt.

The police said they responded to "numerous" 911 calls to the complex and found both victims shot. Both were transported to a hospital in the area where one of them died. The second victim should survive, police said.

The first investigations indicate that both men were shot from outside the apartment by a glass door.

Police at the scene Monday declined to make further statements. Police are asking anyone with information about the shootings to call (248) 871-2610.
