1 year old boy washed away by flood in North Carolina

The authorities found the body of a one – year – old child who had been washed away by the waters of Florence in Union County, North Carolina.

The county sheriff's office said that a woman and her child were going to visit relatives when she was passing barricades on Highway 218 in North Union County. Later, the woman told the authorities that someone had pushed the barricades to the side, making him think that it could go.

<p>The woman's car was washed away, wedged against a group of trees. She managed to release Kaiden Lee-Welch, a year old, from her car seat and escape. But the waters were deep and the police said the woman had lost her grip and her son had been swept away.</p>
<p>"Our thoughts and prayers for the little boy's family and all members of the research team and law enforcement officers who helped in this case. Very sad situation," said the sheriff's office on Facebook. </p>
<p>Florence continued to pour rain and the winds were around 30 mph Monday morning, but forecasters said it was expected that the top speed would gradually increase and make a big turn to the northeast .</p>
<p>Flooding concerns have increased in West Virginia and Virginia, where blackouts have also increased. About 500,000 homes and businesses were in the dark.</p>
<p>The disaster that has spread has claimed the lives of more than 17 people, and at least 17 people have been killed, and the senior emergency services official said other states were on track this week.</p>
