10,000 people take part in the AIDS Walk Los Angeles annual walk

LOS ANGELES CITY CENTER (KABC) –

Approximately 10,000 people attended the 34th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles Walk.

At 10 am, thousands of people started walking to help AIDS patients and raise funds for AIDS research.

This is a 9-km fundraising walk that lasts about two and a half hours. It all started at the L.A. Town Hall Steps at Grand Park, which is also the finish line.

The money raised goes to APLA Health and 20 other HIV / AIDS service organizations.

ABC7's Ellen Leyva led the ABC7 team to walk for a generation without AIDS. She was accompanied by other ABC7 personalities such as Karl Schmid, as well as a team of eyewitnesses.

AIDS Walk L.A. is the largest fundraising event on AIDS in California. It brings together 30,000 participants each year to fight HIV / AIDS. It also offers many meals, musical performances and appearances by activists and leaders of HIV / AIDS.
