Health officials in New Jersey confirmed the increasing number of measles cases in Ocean County, bringing to 14 the total number of cases.
According to officials, infected people may have exposed the disease to others while they were in Lakewood between October 25 and November 7. The state health department considers that there is a measles outbreak in the community.
The sites include several doctor's offices, restaurants and the office of the Motor Vehicle Board in Toms River. A complete list of places where residents may have been exposed to the disease is available at: Department of Health website.

Anyone who thinks they may be exposed should contact a health care provider before going to a doctor's office or emergency department so that special arrangements can be made for an assessment. This also protects other people and medical staff from possible infection.
Measles is a very contagious disease. Symptoms include rash, high fever, coughing, runny nose and red, watery eyes.
Symptoms may appear as late as November 30th.
Officials say the outbreak is linked to a Lakewood resident who returned to New Jersey after a trip to Israel.
