16-year-old girl stabbed at Warren High School

A 16-year-old girl is in critical condition after being stabbed Wednesday at a Warren high school, police said.

Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer said the incident occurred around 8:30 am in a classroom at Fitzgerald High School on Ryan Road in Nine Mile.

He said the investigation is ongoing but has provided preliminary information.

Dwyer said the assault appears to have occurred during an altercation between two female students.

He stated that the suspect in the stabbing was a 17-year-old girl and that the victim was 16 years old.

The victim was taken to a hospital where she is in critical condition, said Dwyer.
