Two people died after their car crashed Wednesday morning at a Sunono service station in Commack, Suffolk police said.

Officers at the scene told News 12 Long Island that the occupants of the vehicle were dead.

Police received a 911 call around 2:10 am reporting the accident on the Memorial Veterans Memorial Highway and Jericho Turnpike, an employee of the Suffolk County Police Department Information Office said. The employee stated that she did not have any additional details.

Photos of the scene show that a damaged gray vehicle crashed on a pump and that the roof of the station collapsed.

The Jericho Turnpike lanes in the area were closed in both directions, but the Memorial Veterans Highway was open, according to the state's Transportation Department.
