BARRON, Wis. (AP) – Investigators evaluate several objects discovered Tuesday by volunteers during an in-depth search for clues that could lead to the disappearance of a 13-year-old Wisconsin girl whose parents were killed, but none seems to be linked to his disappearance, said a sheriff.
Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald issued a statement on Facebook thanking the 2,000 volunteers who spent the day walking through swamps, cornfields and woods in cold weather to help find Jayme Closs, who would have been removed.

His parents, James and Denise Closs, died inside. They had been shot. The investigators believe that Jayme was abducted and excluded him from being a suspect on the first day of the investigation.
Joe Scheu, a retiree from the nearby village of Haugen, said he was attending Tuesday's search because he had a 13-year-old granddaughter and that he wanted to help. He said that the violence in the case was terrible and that he felt sorry for Jayme.
Jill Robinson, who lives in Eleva about 100 km to the south, went to Barron with a friend to participate in the research.

The investigators are also looking for two cars – a red or orange Dodge Challenger and a black Ford Edge or a black Acura MDX – that could have been near the Closs family's home the night of the attack, has said Fitzgerald. He did not have any information about the number plates of the cars.
Parents plan to hold a funeral for James and Denise Closs on Saturday at 1 pm. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cameron, a nearby village of Barron. The funeral will be preceded by an 11-hour visit.
Fitzgerald said he planned to provide another update Wednesday afternoon.
