2,200 cyclists will ride at Colorado National Monument this Saturday

Saturday morning will begin the weekend with the Colorado National Monument as 2,200 Moon Tour cyclists travel to Rimrock Drive.

the Moon Tower, a recreational ride of 41 and 62 miles including the Colorado National Monument will begin and end at the Two Rivers Convention Center in downtown Grand Junction at 7:30 am on September 29. The race in 2018 is limited to 2,200 runners and is so popular that it is completely sold.

The monument will be open during the trip, with the exception of the westbound lane which will be closed to all traffic, with the exception of cyclists. Other visitors and spectators are requested to use the Fruita entrance at the closing on Saturday morning.

Residents should be aware that there will be a significant circulation of bicycles downtown. Some cyclists are expected to explore the city by bike, while other regions may see more cyclists in the streets.

The public is invited to join downtown riders for post-show activities, including live music, an outdoor café and a bicycle product exhibit.
