Less than a week after the rumors that Freeform canceled the film Famous in Love directed by Bella Thorne the network confirmed that the drama will not return for a third season.
We are proud to have had the opportunity to broadcast Famous In Love, "said Freeform in a statement." After much discussion, we made the difficult decision not to renew the show for a third season. We would like to thank our colleagues at Warner Horizon and our incredible producers, writers, actors and team members, especially Marlene King, for their creativity, hard work and dedication.
The series comes from Pretty Little Liars showrunner I. Marlene King, who is currently working on another show with the network, PLL spin-off Perfectionists . Famous in Love who followed Paige Townsen while she was launched into the life of a Hollywood star after having landed an important role in a film, lasted two seasons, the second season ending in May. The final of season 2 will now be the final of the series.
Thorne, who has already tweeted about the rumors of cancellation, has not yet issued a statement about the official decision.
