She may have entered the show with her red locks, but Sophie Turner bids farewell to Game of Thrones with a dramatic hair transformation that makes her look less like Sansa Stark and more Daenerys Targaryen . You guessed it, the actress became icy blonde. And what's more, she has a new stylish shoulder length cut to go with it. But what is the story behind Sophie Turner's blond hair?
Fun fact, the 22-year-old is actually naturally blonde. For years, she's been extinguishing her hair for her role in the hit HBO series, and although this is not the first time she's had a break, redhead fans know and love – she came out with a gorgeous blonde I'm doing last year – it's the first time she's making such a change. I mean, she has a wavy lob (which means long bob for those who are unfamiliar with the infinite amounts of fashionable beauty words) and that's platinum blonde – talk about moving on to chic. Put yourself aside, J-Law.
Turner debuted the new look via his Thursday Instagram page with a selfie of his fresh cut and color alongside the man behind the work. "New Beginnings, New #WellaHair ! ♥ ️ Thank you @sonyadove and @cwoodhair for transforming my look with @wellahairusa ," she wrote in the legend.
Last year, Turner became a global brand ambassador for Wella Professionals. "I am honored to be named the face of Wella Professionals, an iconic beauty brand that encourages women like me to be bold in their choices," she said in a statement. "Working with them is an excellent creative collaboration because it brings my characters to life on the screen and allows me to express my personality off screen, as well."
After going back and forth between blonde and Turner decided to wear a piece of hair in Game of Thrones season 7, hiding her blond curls underneath. "I started wearing a wig because I had dyed my blond hair and it was not the best experience, so we could not really dye my hair red," explained she ELLE but the actress became red shortly thereafter for her role as Jean Gray. X-Men: Dark Phoenix blockbuster, which is scheduled for February 2019
Of course, Turner is not the only GoT star to transform his look after filming last season.Ilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys alias Khaleesi, moved on to the bleach bleach to start filming in January. In fact, Clarke, who usually wears a braided wig on the show, got the creators of her mane on the screen, Kevin Alexander and Candice Banks, to give her the famous hue of Dragon's mother in real life.As for Turner's move to platinum blonde, it seems to have been progressive, as young Brit was seen wearing long, softer blonde-golden clasps last weekend as she attended she GoT co-star Rose Leslie and the marriage of Kit Harrington. She arrived alongside her friend, Maisie Williams, who plays her sister on the screen, Arya Stark. While she was there, she very gently faced her own fiance, Joe Jonas, whom she later shared with fans on social networks.
Turner and Jonas announced their engagement via Instagram October 15, 2017 and of course, Twitter fell into meltdown while fans were on the moon for the stars. Both shared the same picture of their hands, sporting Turner's brilliant engagement ring to confirm the news. She kept her legend short and sweet as she wrote "I said yes", while he simply wrote "she said yes" in her. Oh young love, is there something better?
