4 shots, the suspect died shooting outside the Pennsylvania Judge's office

Four people, including a police officer, were shot and wounded after a man opened fire on Wednesday in the lobby of a municipal building near a judge's office in Masontown, Pennsylvania, police said. The alleged policeman was also shot dead by a police officer on the scene, the police said.

State police failed to identify the suspect, but said he was scheduled to appear Wednesday in the courtroom of District Judge Daniel Shimshock. The suspect was under an abuse protection order in relation to a domestic violence case.

Masontown Mayor Toni Petrus was in the hospital on Wednesday afternoon to check if a policeman from Masontown had been injured during the shooting. State police confirmed via social media that the shooting took place around 14 hours. Wednesday at Shimshock's office in Masontown, about 60 miles south of Pittsburgh.

The 911 supervisor reported that two victims had been transported by helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, and another had been transported by ambulance. The extent of their injuries was not clear Wednesday afternoon.

A witness told CBS Pittsburgh that he was in the parking lot when he heard gunshots. When he returned, he saw a woman run from a man with a gun.

"I was on the parking lot in front of the magistrate and I heard a shot or what appeared to be a shot," said Xuan Sayles. "I turned around and saw a guy with a gun and the lady was five or eight feet from the shooter and his rifle was stuck, he was trying to get him fired again and he was not firing, firing again, I hid beside the magistrate.

People inside the building attempted to shelter when they heard gunshots, reports CBS Pittsburgh.
