More than 6.5 million pounds of beef shipped across the country were recalled after discovering that it could be contaminated with salmonella.
The beef was distributed by JBS Tolleson, Inc., based in Arizona, and includes "raw non-intact beef products, including ground beef," wrapped between July 26 and September 7, announced Thursday. ; USDA.
The USDA was concerned that the meat was still in the freezers of some people and urged everyone who bought it to throw it away or return it.

So far, 57 people from 16 states have been sick from August 5 to September 6, 2018. The USDA has not identified the states.
The reminder alert does not indicate in which stores the beef was shipped, but the distribution list will be posted on the website of the Food Inspection and Safety Service (FSIS) of the "USDA" when it will be available ".
FSIS opened its investigation on 5 September after receiving several reports of people sick with beef. Many of them brought the receipts from the stores and the service was able to trace the origin of the contaminated meat up to JBS Tolleson.
The most common symptoms of Salmonellosis, a disease caused by salmonella, are diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever within 12 to 72 hours after eating a contaminated food. The disease usually lasts four to seven days, the USDA said.
This is the second national booster in less than a month. More than 132,000 pounds of ground beef, probably contaminated with E. coli, were recalled on September 19th.
