A strong storm swept the Nepalese Gurja Himal mountain Friday, destroying a base camp and killing at least seven mountaineers, the Nepalese police said on Saturday.
The bodies of four villagers who traveled to the base camp discovered the bodies of four South Korean mountaineers, two Nepali guides and another unidentified person. The search continues for two people still missing.
"The bodies have not been identified. Go by the color of their skin The four bodies must be Korean mountaineers and two Nepali, "police chief Bir Bahadur Budhamagar told Reuters.
"We do not know if the seventh body found was that of a Korean or a Nepalese," Budhamagar said.

The storm prevented two rescue helicopters from landing at base camp, but the pilots also spotted the bodies from the air, reports the Associated Press.
The weather conditions should hinder any helicopter landing at least Sunday. In the meantime, a police team goes to the foot of the base camp.
Mount Gurja, or Gurja Himal, is part of the Dhaulagiri Range in the Himalayas. The highest peak of the chain is the Dhaulagiri I, the seventh highest mountain in the world at 26,795 feet above sea level.
