DANA POINT, Calif. – According to the authorities, nine children were injured when their van crashed into a tree in a coastal town in southern California.
The Orange County Fire Department said the van crashed into the tree on Wednesday afternoon at Dana Point.
Injured children are between 9 and 12 years old. Five youths suffered traumatic injuries and four others suffered minor injuries.
The driver refused transportation to a hospital.
The van seemed to tow a trailer carrying surfboards.
It is not immediately known where the van was headed nor what caused the accident about 97 kilometers south of Los Angeles.
