Martinez. This is proof of the talent of the AL this season. Martinez gets a lot of attention, but remember that he is DH, which affects his impact. Betts is the favorite here because his 10.4 fWAR was the best baseball. Trout was second with 9.8. Ramirez was third with 8.0. Betts also ticks the traditional box: best player of the best team. Baez's total talent certainly had an impact, especially considering the injury problems the Cubs had to face this season, but it's Yelich's reward. Snell had the fastest time in ERA (1.89) and the most wins (21), Verlander had the highest number of strikeouts (290) and Kluber led both runs. Snell's season was pretty incredible as the Rays did not have many other starting pitchers, but Verlander beat him in the inning. He was very efficient in the plate. His only offensive production (.285 / .361 / .564, 22 HR, 61 RBI) allowed a better war than Andujar and Torres. Add the launch numbers, and he was the most valuable player. Consider that the two Yankees are going to divide some of the votes here and that should belong to Ohtani. They are even in the war and batting average, quite close in circuits and points produced. The big advantage of Soto is its base percentage of .406 compared to .366 for Acuna. Acuna's advantage is that he has compiled these numbers in fewer games and helped his team play in the playoffs. "Data-reactid =" 42 ">Our take: A hard indeed. It's Acuna against Soto here.
