A trial date has been set in the battle for custody of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
According to court documents obtained by ET, a trial in custody is scheduled for December 4, the place yet to be determined.
The documents, which were tabled on Monday, indicate that Pitt and Jolie wish to extend the appointment of Judge Ouderkirk as a temporary judge until June 30, 2019.
This means that Judge Ouderkirk will hear and decide all matters relating to the courtroom, applications and motions related to their trial and will preside at the trial.
At the discretion of the judge, Pitt, 54, and Jolie, 43, will eventually be able to attend the trial by telephone, according to the court documents.
As in most hearings involving minors, the hearing room should be closed to all persons other than the parties involved.
A news item was announced in September 2016 to the effect that Jolie had filed for Pitt's divorce after two years of marriage. Jolie cited irreconcilable differences in her rankings and an actress' lawyer, Robert Offer, told The Associated Press that the decision had been made "for the health of the family".
She also requested physical custody of their six children, but in November, Pitt responded to Jolie's petition for divorce, seeking both legal and physical custody of the children in her case.
A tense battle for custody took place and in August, a source close to the situation told ET that the two had reached an interim agreement.
A second source told ET that an interim agreement had been in place for some time and that a more permanent agreement had not yet been agreed.
