Idris Elba may not be the Next James Bond, but he's your "Sexiest Man Alive" for 2018.

Elba, 46, is the 33rd player to receive the honor of People magazine, announced Monday night at NBC's "The Tonight Show" show by host Jimmy Fallon.

In response to this recognition, the star of "Thor" said that he "was really happy with that one.My mother will be very very proud". Elba made a shy smile at Fallon's request, bent her biceps and thanked the magazine.

The Elbe has used its time in the spotlight to encourage supporters to fulfill their civic duty on Tuesday, tweeting"I am honored and grateful, and what is even more important is your vote in the mid-term elections – your vote can make a difference!"

Elba, who found his role as a piercer in the world of drugs, Russell "Stringer" Bell on "The Wire" of HBO, has played in dozens of series and films throughout his career, including in the franchise from "Thor" from Heimdall.

Sorry ladies, Elba is no longer on the market. He proposed to his girlfriend, Sabrina Dhowre, in February, after almost a year of dating.

The Briton is one of the few people of color to receive this distinction since the first edition of "Sexiest Man Alive" aired in 1985, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (2016) and Denzel Washington (1996).

Blake Shelton won the title in 2017, which sparked mixed reactions online. Shelton joked that "you have to run out of people, like, wow, we are at someone who is somewhat symmetrical."
