Race in the Senate
The Republican party currently has a slim majority in the Senate of 51 senators. But the structure of this election puts the chances of the GOP enormously. Of the 35 seats to be filled, only 9 are currently occupied by Republicans, which puts the Democrats in defense in 26 races – 10 of which are in states where Trump won in 2016 – and still forces them to win 2 more seats . & nbsp;

7:05 pm – Senator Bernie Sanders won his race in Vermont. Sanders is an independent but he is a member of the Democratic Party.

Race for the governor's mansions
Tuesday, there are 36 races at the governor's post, with polls showing that Democrat spilled a number of governor's mansions in blue. Although the governor's races are mainly local affairs, some races have attracted the attention of the country.
