Voters in Massachusetts had a very good night as voters handed over their second-term tickets to Governor Charlie Baker and Senator Elizabeth Warren on Tuesday.

Baker defeated Democratic challenger Jay Gonzalez and Warren defeated Republican Geoff Diehl.

Gonzalez tried to criticize Baker for not criticizing Trump loud enough, even though the incumbent president had repeatedly rebuked the White House policy and the president himself over the last two years.

Baker boasted the strength of the economy and the low unemployment rate of his state, the progress of his government in stabilizing the state's finances without major tax increases and the measures taken to combat the crisis of opioid addiction.

Gonzalez claimed $ 3 billion in new taxes to improve education and transportation, and supported a single payer health system.

"Thank you, Massachusetts!" Six years ago, I had promised to go to Washington to fight every day for you. "Tonight, send a message to the powerful interests: we're just starting," Warren tweeted.

Warren, a potential presidential candidate in 2020, often used Diehl as a trump for Trump while she was seeking re-election to the Senate.

Warren has generated plenty of speculation about a possible White House run in 2020, saying recently that she would cast a "stern look" at a presidential bid at the end of the Senate race.

The former law professor at Harvard Law School recently released a DNA test suggesting that a distant ancestor was Native American, in order to refute Trump's frequent taunts about his claim to Native American heritage.

Diehl claimed that Warren was ready to leave Massachusetts to run for president. Warren retorted that Diehl, when he was elected, would be a stamp in Washington for Trump 's agenda.

Democrat Ayanna Pressley, who ran unopposed after a frustrated primary victory over ten-term US representative Michael Capuano, officially became the first black woman in Massachusetts to be elected to Congress.

The other four members of the Congress delegation, all Democrats in power, representatives Jim McGovern, Katherine Clark, Seth Moulton and Bill Keating, are facing challengers.

Republican Rick Green, Democrat Lori Trahan and Independent Mike Mullen vied for the vacant seat in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Niki Tsongas.

The US Democratic representatives Joe Kennedy, Stephen Lynch and Richard Neal came forward unopposed.

Massachusetts voters rejected a polling question that would establish a patient / nurse ratio in Bay State medical facilities, according to the Associated Press and the Massachusetts Nurses Association.

"I am very disappointed by tonight's results and the impact this will have on our patients," said Donna Kelly – Williams of the Massachusetts Nurses Association.

Voters approved a proposal to create a citizens' commission to overturn the Citizens United decision of the US Supreme Court with a favorable vote on the second question.

Voters also rejected an effort to overturn the state's 2016 law protecting transgender people from discrimination in public places and allowing them to use the bathroom or locker room that matches their gender identity.

Democrat Deb Goldberg has won a second four-year term as Treasurer, the Democrat Suzanne Bump will be re-elected for a third term as State Auditor and Secretary of State Democratic, William Galvin , the oldest elected official in the state of Massachusetts, has won a seven-year term.

Nationally, voters have the opportunity to respond to Trump's program and potentially change the balance of power in Congress. All seats in the House of Representatives and about a third of the Senate are decided Tuesday.

Galvin predicted that nearly 2.4 million residents would have voted before the polls closed on polling day, of which approximately 585,000 who took advantage of the state's early voting period.

Some voters waited in the rain to start voting at 7 am and voting as polling stations in the state continued at a brisk pace until the polls closed at 8 pm

If this is true, it would exceed the participation rate in the last two mid-term elections, 2014 and 2010.
