LONDON, Nov. 7 (Reuters) – Children as young as 12 have been found among the 21 people stowed inside a refrigerated truck carrying sparkling water in a British port. reported the BBC Wednesday.

The group, which would come from Vietnam, was discovered Thursday by the Border Force in the port of Newhaven, in southern England, and included 15 children.

The BBC said that a criminal investigation was ongoing and that one Romanian, suspected of being the driver of the vehicle, had been charged with assistance for illegal entry into the United Kingdom.

Two of the six adults were removed from the UK and the remaining four went to immigration detention centers while their cases were examined.

The children do not need medical care and have been entrusted to social services. (Report by Alistair Smout, edited by Guy Faulconbridge)
